Karen,
I received this email
today and thought that you would be really interested in reading it.
You may also pass it
along to the other players to let them know that their efforts are greatly
appreciated.

Big Dog Vending reaches out
for Autism
Written by; Deborah A.

John and Karen Casper, local representatives of Big Dog Vending have been providing a
vehicle for socializing and enjoyment for over 20 plus years through their dart
leagues.
These leagues, located in
the North, East and South Hills areas of Pittsburgh (approximately 30 in all of
Allegheny County), have introduced their players to a safe, competitive sport
for adults to enjoy.
But it doesn’t stop
there. The spirit of Altruism (thinking of others), has found a
place in the hearts of players in the league; community concerns,
making a difference in the
lives of others is what makes these leagues truly shine. These everyday
people, mothers, fathers, friends, teammates have been finding causes, raising
donations,
giving to people in need
for as long as they’ve been in existence. Billie Jo Smith, Service Coordinator for Starting Early Together (SET) and Focus on Renewal is one of those teammates.
She is involved in the “Autism Walks” campaign through SET and
broadened awareness about the illness at a dart league session. As a
result, a 2 day event garnered $1, 066.00 for the cause.
We congratulate all of the players for their kindness, their
giving hearts and the continued efforts to show they care. It’s news worth sharing. We’re celebrating the spirit
of giving and we hope it catches on!
Thank you, Billie Jo for
all that you do for Starting Early
Together and for your participation and association with such an awesome league of people.
